Head of Information Technology

Collective Wellness Group (CWG), Australia’s leader in health and fitness franchising, is actively searching for a senior IT specialist with a knack for influencing others and communicating business needs within an IT context.  CWG is the fastest growing franchisor in Australia, operating over 530 franchised locations across its brands, including Anytime Fitness, Orangetheory and Xtend Barre


The Head of IT for CWG is both a strategic and tactical role.  The successful candidate will work closely with the US-based master franchisors for each brand to understand their global strategy and technology roadmap, and then take local leadership of the full range of technology related platforms, projects and priorities.

More about the role:

  • Work with the master franchisor for each brand to understand the global strategy and technology roadmap, collaborate and influence the direction and deployment of technology initiatives to support local requirements
  • Ensure our third-party providers understand the needs and demands of our business, and can ultimately deliver
  • Provide leadership for all technology platforms and vendors, in accordance with the global strategy and standards set for each brand
  • Provide leadership and coaching for the one (1) internal IT support staff
  • Identify key requirements and technology gaps for each brand
  • Drive and leverage process efficiency across the three brands
  • Manage technology projects to meet cost, scope, and schedule constraints
  • Consider emerging trends; identify and evaluate opportunities for technological innovation and development
  • Ensure consistent IT service and support is provided to the franchise network

About you:

  • 6+ years management experience in an IT environment, ideally with a minimum 2 years in the franchise sector
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating with vendors to drive the effectiveness of, and enhancements to, third party providers’ products
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Programming or Computer Science is preferred
  • Broad knowledge of current and emerging digital and technology trends and solutions
  • The ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of vendors and stakeholder groups
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in a master franchisee & global sub-franchising structure highly desirable
  • Experience with Clubwise, Franconnect, Mindbody Online and/or Debitsuccess would be highly regarded
